The DATA4 Marcoussis Campus Project
As part of the Revamping project on the DATA4 Marcoussis campus, a participatory approach was implemented, from the expression of needs through to the creation of the COMECA prototype. The project was carried out within a secure, fast, and controlled timeframe, thanks to a high-performing commissioning team strongly committed to safety aspects.
This project made it possible to maintain the performance of the installations while delivering greater flexibility and scalability of the equipment. It also marks a turning point in the management of existing assets, with a clear intention to extend the lifespan of infrastructures: the long-term sustainability of our enclosures is entering a new phase.
A Sustainable and Responsible Approach
Particular attention was paid to the management of existing drawers as spare parts for DC02, DC03, and DC04, in order to optimize existing resources.
A controlled environmental impact is a key pillar of this project. Indeed, a comparison with the complete replacement of switchboards highlighted the advantages of the chosen solution. The project includes:
-
Retaining the structure and copper within the switchboards
-
No intervention on the incoming column of the switchboard (circuit breaker + cable connections)
-
Integration of a recyclable aluminum structure
-
Conversion of removed components into spare parts
-
Treatment of removed elements
-
Improved thermal dissipation without forced ventilation
-
All within the framework of a custom-made solution
Une technologie adaptée et une mise en œuvre structurée
COMECA works directly with the end customer, ensuring smooth communication and optimal adaptation to on-site requirements.
From a technical perspective, the product and technology implemented are based on EvoBloc, initially developed for the hospital market, but here adapted to the data center market in collaboration with DATA4.
The project rollout was structured in several stages:
-
Site visit to COMECA in Angers by DATA4 teams
-
Definition of customer needs and expectations
-
Collaborative work between the engineering office, production, and sales teams to define the solution: EVOBLOC DC
-
On-site audit
-
Development of a prototype
-
Removal and installation of the prototype
-
Series launch
-
Installation and commissioning
A Technical, Sustainable, and Controlled Solution
This project embodies COMECA’s commitment to delivering innovative, tailor-made, and responsible solutions. Thanks to effective synergy between our teams and those of DATA4, we successfully carried out a comprehensive transformation while enhancing existing infrastructures and controlling technical, economic, and environmental impacts.
