COMECA Transport opens a branch in Spain

« I am pleased to announce to all our customers the opening of our COMECA Transport branch in Barcelona, Spain» said Patrick Etcheverry, Director of Railway & Control Command activities for COMECA.

COMECA Transport, a business unit of COMECA Group specialized in embedded cabling, has already 3 sites in France and one in Morocco. The opening of a fifth production site and the choice of its location is not random.

The growth of ALSTOM's "Citadis tramway" activity started to rise again, with over 300 tram sets currently in backlog. «These new perspectives drove our major customer to open a production unit in Barcelona, whose activity quickly took off thanks to the signature of several international contracts: Citadis tramways for several cities in Algeria, metro vehicles for the cities of Lima (Peru), Panama (Panama) or else Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) ».

First commercial success

The historical background between COMECA and Alstom Barcelona as well as the recruitment of experienced local staff enabled the COMECA Transport factory in Barcelona to sign its first commercial success.

 «This is how we signed orders for Tramway products: Lusail in Qatar, delivery scheduled for the end of 2017; Sydney in Australia, with a complete after-sales service (modifications, configuration...)... As well as our first orders for Metro products (Santo Domingo, delivery scheduled for the end of 2017), in line with our forecasts» indicates Patrick Etcheverry - Transport

COMECA, a credible and dynamic partner

As for the future, COMECA Transport hopes signing first orders with new customers by the end of the year. «We wish to inform our customers that COMECA Transport grows and that our company is a credible partner. Meanwhile, we plan to organise an official inauguration of our new factory where we will invite, among others, historical and potential customers».
