The project consisted of entrusting Comeca's teams with the renovation of the MP89 metro beams of the RATP (Autonomous Parisian Transportation Administration), within the framework of a return to service on another line. The Bagnère-de-Bigorre site was selected for its expertise and know-how in the field of railway cabling.
The MP89 metro (Metro Sur Pneumatiques) was put into service in 1997. It is a metro with a composition of six cars. As part of a line change, the city of Paris wanted to equip itself with new equipment. The project therefore consists of making modifications to the old equipment in order to put it back into circulation on other lines. For the purposes of the project, one MP89 metro car had to be removed.
The tender was won by ACCM, which called on Comeca's expertise for the duration of the project. The contract was signed at the end of October 2021 for a period of 5 years. The service entrusted to Comeca consists in designing and producing all the electrical harnesses that will be integrated into the MP89 metro, in order to modernise it and put it back into circulation on another line. The new equipment consists of 45 trains and 5 cars.
The harnesses for the first train set, delivered at the beginning of July 2022, were manufactured at our site in Bagnère-de-Bigorre. This site, which specialises in the field of railway cabling, was selected to carry out all the studies prior to mass production, which will be carried out on the Moroccan site.
Comeca, an expert in cabling, and in particular railway cabling, is able to provide all its expertise to meet the client's needs. For this project to renovate the wiring of the MP89 metro's electrical harnesses, the teams responded to the customer's request while ensuring that deadlines were strictly respected.
The Bagnère-de-Bigorre site is responsible for producing all the prototypes, thanks to its historical know-how. This is the pilot site where the first series will be produced. The rest of the series will be produced at the Comeca Morocco site, which specialises in series production.
The entire electrical harness must meet EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) requirements. This requirement makes it possible to avoid disturbances to the bundles by the radiation of electric current. In order to meet this requirement, it is necessary to install an EMC sheath on all the electrical harnesses. This represents a technical challenge and requires know-how in railway cabling, which the Comeca teams working at the Bagnères-De-Bigorre site possess.
