It is with this approach that COMECA supports Elogen on the **MéthyCentre** project, an **R&D demonstrator** for **methanation** located in Angé, in the Loir-et-Cher region. Here’s a look back at an **ambitious project** at the heart of the **power-to-gas sector**. MéthyCentre: Producing renewable gas from hydrogen and CO₂ Led by **Storengy**, a subsidiary of **Engie**, the **MéthyCentre** project aims to produce **synthetic methane** from **green hydrogen** generated by **electrolysis** and **biogenic CO₂** sourced from a local **agricultural digester**. This fully **renewable methane** will then be injected into the **gas distribution network** operated by **GRDF**, complementing **biomethane**. It is a **pre-industrial scale** project designed to demonstrate the **technical** and **economic feasibility** of a complete **power-to-gas** chain capable of operating over the long term. A high-performance power supply solution by COMECA To power the **250 kW PEM electrolyzer** supplied by **Elogen**, a French specialist in electrolysis technologies, COMECA was selected to provide the **conversion package**. Our **Allhydre PRO** solution naturally stood out for this type of project. It offers: - **High electrical performance**, essential for the optimal operation of the electrolyzer - **Reduced footprint**, suitable for constrained sites - **Facilitated maintenance**, crucial for critical installations Specifically designed for projects **under 1 MW**, the **Allhydre PRO** range meets the requirements of **compactness**, **reliability**, and **efficiency** demanded by new industrial applications related to hydrogen. Local production serving the energy transition The commissioning of the MéthyCentre site is nearing completion. Ultimately, it will produce daily: - **50 kg of green hydrogen** - **50 m³ of synthetic methane per hour** This represents the energy consumption equivalent of **800 inhabitants** and **20 light vehicles**. A significant contribution to **decarbonizing usage** and developing **energy storage solutions**.
