COMECA will supply low voltage switchboards for the future 1,000MW Tanjung Bin supercritical coal-fired power plant in Malaysia. The power plant should be commissioned in 2016.
Supercritical power plants operate at a temperature higher than 565 degrees. The high temperature enables to increase pressure and consequently to improve efficiency, while reducing the impact on the environment.
Comeca Indonesia designs for this ambitious project an innovative solution of GALAXIS low voltage switchboards totally integrated in tight kiosks (IP55).
Indeed, electrical equipment in certain zones of the power plant is subjected to high levels of pollution. In a coal mill in particular, fine dusts can affect the proper operation of electrical equipment.
COMECA therefore accompanies its client to jointly finalize the technical solution to external constraints and the logistical challenges according to tight schedule.
“This solution allows our customer to take delivery of a customized solution in less than five months, which perfectly fits its technical and scheduling needs. As for this new contract, it strengthens the positioning of COMECA Group and particularly its subsidiary CIN in the energy sector in South East Asia” comments Jérôme Micon, Key Account Manager at COMECA and in charge of the Tanjung Bin project.
