Comeca France has partnered with IRUP to set up a 24-month sandwich course for Industrial Maintenance Technicians. The course content consists of a theoretical part with general lessons and a professional part with work-related lessons.
The launch of the first intake is scheduled for September/October 2022. On completion of the course, students will be awarded a level 5 vocational qualification in Industrial Maintenance (BAC+2), which is registered with the French National Register of Professional Qualifications (RNCP), as well as Nuclear Certification, Electrical Habilitation, sling bridge operator, Fluid Handling and Brazing.
IRUP is a higher education institution with associative status created in 1995 on the initiative of the Rhône Alpes Region, as part of the State-Region plan contract to develop work-linked training in higher education. The school offers a range of programmes, including technical diplomas, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and certified qualifications in seven areas of expertise that meet the major challenges of industrial, energy, environmental, digital, economic, societal and social change.
The institution has developed a close relationship with the economic sphere, forging long-term relationships with a number of partner companies at regional and national level.
Comeca is proud to be one of IRUP's partners in setting up a work-study programme to give students the opportunity to gain professional experience by studying for a Higher Technician diploma in Industrial Maintenance.
Comeca and IRUP have worked together to put in place a comprehensive training programme based on theoretical training at IRUP, professional training delivered by Comeca experts and apprenticeship on Comeca equipment with courses on real machines.
The Advanced Industrial Maintenance Technician course has been set up to train the next generation of maintenance professionals, against a backdrop of a shortage of applicants. The industrial sector is facing a shortage of qualified personnel in the maintenance professions, and many vacancies remain unfilled.
Comeca is keen to work with the younger generation to raise awareness of the industrial professions by giving priority to work-linked training. The Group's aim is to train future maintenance professionals and support them in their integration into the world of work by offering them the possibility of a job at the end of the 24-month training period.
